Getting help for you and your family
On Monday, 12th December 2016, we started operating a same-day telephone-led consulting service, intended to make it easier and quicker for our patients to get help from our team at Bridge Road Medical Centre. Watch the video below to see how it works.
There are just three steps to follow
1. You phone the surgery
All our doctors are qualified to help but if you want a particular doctor please call on the day they are working (if you know it) and we will try to fit you in but it may not always be the same doctor.
2. The doctor calls you back
Usually within an hour on the day you contact us but it may take longer depending on priorities.
3. You are always offered an appointment to see one of our GPs if needed
Generally on the same day, there is no need to book in advance
Please remember: one appointment for one patient only. Please do not expect the GP to see anybody else during your consultation. If you have a number of problems you wish to discuss, please make a double appointment.
As from 1 April 2016, all patients will be nominated a named GP, but patients may express a preference to see a particular doctor when making an appointment.
Patient Access Online Appointment Booking (subject to change when new appointment system is introduced on 12th December 16)
To improve patient access to our services we offer a 24 hour online appointment booking system. First of all you must register to use the internet appointment booking facility. Ask the receptionist for a registration form, which provides the information you need to register to use the internet facility. After initial registration, the system will allow patients to book, cancel or check appointments on the Internet, whatever time or day and send you immediate confirmation of the booking. You will automatically be added to the appointment list, so there is no need to re-confirm by e-mail or telephone, just arrive promptly on the day!
Once the registration process is complete, you can log on to the appointments systems using your individual patient number and password, and will be able to view appointments you have already made, cancel them if necessary, and book an appointment with your doctor after checking the times available.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can also use the Patient Access online appointment system to cancel appointments, even if they were first made via the telephone.
